Clinical residency

Clinical residency is a type of education that enters into the system of retraining of personnel, and continuous professional education of doctors is part of the multi-level structure. Training of doctors in clinical residency is carried out in accordance with the curriculum and training program on the nomenclature of Doctor’s specialties approved by the Ministry of the health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on any specialty established on the basis of the requirements of the specialty assigned to the specialist.
The medical institutions that carry out the training of doctors in clinical residency are determined by the Ministry of the health of the Republic of Uzbekistan based on the following::
the existence of the potential of the relevant highly qualified scientific and practical personnel forming scientific schools;
the state of the material and technical base, which makes it possible to carry out high-tech and qualified medical care;
Availability of an educational program for training clinical interns approved by the Ministry of the health of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure.
Graduates of clinical residency are given the right to engage in practical activities in the specialty received in the process of study.
The total size of the training load is distributed as follows:
80 percent of the time of preparation is allocated for the study of basic and secondary specialties;
20 percent will be allocated for the study of concomitant Sciences (pathologic anatomy, pathologic physiology, Clinical Pharmacology, etc.). The list of concomitant specialties and disciplines that are mandatory for study by the clinical intern is provided for in the training programs of their preparation.
At the Fergana branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy, specialists in nutrition hygiene, hygiene of children and adolescents, hygiene of Labor, Municipal hygiene and laboratory work are being trained.
